Welcome to maggieM – Handcrafted Leather Bags with Character
After 40 fulfilling years as a dedicated teacher, I embraced a new chapter in 2020; channeling my creativity into crafting unique, high-quality handbags. Each piece is lovingly handmade using premium South African bovine leather, chosen for its durability, natural beauty, and rich texture.
Designed by a woman, for women, my handbags celebrate bold expression and individuality. I have a deep love for color and often incorporate striking hues and leopard-printed leather, creating statement pieces that stand out from the crowd. Whether you're dressing up or keeping it casual, my bags are designed to turn heads while staying practical and timeless.
Thank you for visiting, I hope you find a bag that speaks to your style and spirit.

Leather care
To keep your handcrafted leather bag looking beautiful for years to come, follow these gentle care tips:
1. Regular Dusting
Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe off dust and dirt.
Do this weekly to prevent buildup and keep the leather fresh.
2. Light Cleaning
Dampen a clean, soft cloth with lukewarm water.
Wipe the leather gently—never soak it.
For stubborn spots, use a mild leather cleaner (always spot-test first).
3. Conditioning
Every few months, apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather soft and prevent cracking.
Use a conditioner suitable for bovine leather, applied in circular motions with a clean cloth.
4. Avoid Water & Heat
Keep your bag away from rain, direct sunlight, and heaters, as these can dry out or warp the leather.
If it gets wet, blot (don’t rub) with a dry towel and let it air dry naturally.
5. Storage Tips
Store your bag in a dust bag or pillowcase when not in use.
Stuff it lightly with paper (not newspaper) to help it maintain its shape.
6. Special Note for Printed Leather
For leopard or printed leather sections, avoid harsh rubbing.
Use a dry, soft brush to gently lift dust without damaging the pattern.
